The Thorn Security MR501T (516.031.004) is a high-performance optical smoke detector (HPO) from the legacy Thorn M500/Minerva analogue-addressable fire detection range. It uses an optical light-scattering principle to detect smoke and provides an analogue signal to the fire control panel for alarm evaluation.
Key Features
- High-performance optical smoke detection.
- Uses light scattering to detect smoke particles.
- Analogue-addressable communication with the fire control panel.
- Increased sensitivity when a rapid rise in temperature is detected.
- Smoke confirmation is required for the high-performance alarm condition; temperature rise alone does not trigger the HPO alarm.
- ntegral LED indication during detector polling.
- EMI-shielded detector construction.
- Polarised plug-in connection to the M500 detector base.
- Designed to meet the mechanical requirements associated with EN54-7 / BS5445 Part 7.
- Available in different programmed sensitivity levels through the Minerva system.
Typical Applications
- Marine and shipboard fire detection systems.
- Industrial fire alarm installations.
- Commercial buildings and facilities.
- Hospitals, hotels and offices.
- Control rooms and equipment areas.
- Warehouses and plant rooms.
- Thorn Minerva 8/16/80 analogue-addressable systems.
- Replacement of legacy MR501T 516.031.004 detectors.
