The Tyco MD901 (516.053.001) is an analogue addressable heat detector from the Tyco/Thorn M900 series. It uses two networked thermistors to detect both absolute temperature and rate of temperature rise, making it suitable for areas where smoke detectors are unsuitable due to dust, steam or other environmental conditions.
Key Features
- Analogue addressable heat detection.
- Dual thermistors provide fast response to temperature changes.
- Supports fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise detection.
- Intelligent processing improves detection performance.
- Smart Card addressing for easy device identification.
- Integral and remote alarm LED indication.
- Polarity-independent wiring.
- Low-profile design suitable for unobtrusive installation.
- Suitable for environments where smoke detection can generate unwanted alarms.
Typical Applications
- Marine Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
- Engine rooms and machinery spaces
- Kitchens, galleys and canteens
- Locker rooms and laundries
- Garages and loading bays
- Areas with dust, steam, smoke or fumes
- Industrial and commercial fire detection
- Replacement of existing MD901 / 516.053.001 detectors
