The Tyco 5BI 5″ (517.050.018) is a bi-directional short-circuit isolator base for Tyco MX/MZX digital addressable fire-detection systems. It functions both as a detector base and as a loop protection device, isolating a faulty section while allowing the remainder of the addressable loop to continue operating.
